Outward Bound

Working in Schools

Forest school is for everyone. In the traditional school setting we work on school sites with nursery and reception groups through to KS5 learners.

Enjoyment of immersive outdoor experiences helps a young person to develop their decision making skills, regulate their emotions and embrace positive social interaction.

Build cultural capital amongst your learners by giving them access to West Yorkshire's great outdoors.

Life Skills

We all want our children to be able to make good decisions for themselves, form fair and reciprocal friendships and deal with adversity in a healthy way.

Kirklees and Calderdale Forest School use a synthesis of FSA standards and educational and therapeutic theory to facilitate exciting and engaging sessions that feed into social and personal development of our participants.

Activities

Just like the seasons our sessions run continuously.

Participants can learn to use bushcraft tools, understand the forest and its seasons, learn about the life cycles of of our native flora and fauna and make a huge variety of expressive art works, functional structures and devices as well as enjoying an introduction to outdoors science experiments.
