What we do

Engage

Forest School sessions encourage exploration and experimentation in the natural environment.

Participants lead traditional games like hide and seek, create unique bushcraft pieces, take part in groups games and challenges and make useful tools and musical instruments.

Cultural Capital

In our sessions become familiar with and understand the variety of environmental issues that face the global population today. Local knowledge is expanded to address big issues like flooding, famine and energy consumption as well as land management, food provenance and growing your own veg.

Experiment and learn

Experiment with bushcraft tools to create unique and imaginative items, tell stories, climb trees and build dens. Go on nature walks, invent new games, make new friendships and enjoy

Learn about the environment, woodland management, forest flora and fauna, understand the seasons and identify animals and trees

Be productive, become resilient

Build, light and extinguish fires for cooking and story telling, rig tarpaulin shelters in the rain, help others to succeed and share stories.

Follow your own path

Ultimately, Forest School is about making sense of the world and one's place in it. This does mean learning about and caring for the natural world but in broader sense Forest School ethos and structure is intended to assist participants figure out who they are and how significant they are in their own life.
